Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation is currently interviewing candidates for a part-time news anchor/reporter position. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, and news writing experience. Radio experience is a plus, but not necessary. News anchors broadcast live news and record newscasts for 94KX, 100.9 The Valley, Eagle 107, Newsradio 1070 WKOK, and TalkRadio 1380 WMLP. Reporting involves working in the newsroom, gathering news from a wide variety of sources, writing news stories, editing, posting online news, shooting and editing video, using social media (Facebook, Twitter) as well as our own ‘Text Connect’ text message alerts, as well as our ‘WKOK Email Alerts.’ Field reporting entails traveling to meetings, activities and events, and writing news stories, gathering audio and video interviews. Evening and weekend work is required. Candidates must be familiar with Microsoft Word, WordPress and multiple social media platforms.
